Okay, okay, I admit, I am also fans of the Seahawks seeing as how I live in Washington. So when word comes that we have signed Julius Jones from Dallas, I leapt with joy. You see, Alexander is getting to that magical place in a running back's career that is affectionately called getting old. Soon, he won't be of any use to us and we have to start looking at our options. Julius Jones, to me, fits in perfectly as he is a smaller more agile back who explodes through the holes (which Alexander couldn't do and as a result, just ended up with minimal gains) and he isn't too shabby with receiving, which of course, Seattle loves to do. I look for Alexander and Jones to share the backfield this season with the eventual replacement of Alexander by Jones sometime in the next season or
Continue reading "Seahawks land Jones"

Ahh, the blissful time of the off-season where any team can position themselves as the premier team in the league due to signings. So far, there have been some decent splashes in the ocean of free agents, most notably so far Michael Turner going to the Falcons, Bernard Berrian to the Vikings, Alge Crumpler to the Titans, Alan Faneca to the Jets, Justin Smith to the 49ers, Asante Samuel to the Eagles and finally Josh Brown to the Rams. Whew, that's a lot players. Expect to see many more transfers happening soon and when they do, I'll be sure to report them to you. Looks like 2008 will be an interesting year...
Continue reading "Its Free Agent Time"

Isn't this pretty obvious? I mean, the team only really needed this position to be solidified and then we probably would have taken the Super Bowl (Hell, if the Giants could be them, then we definitely would have). So, with the 8th pick of the draft, we should select Brian Brohm. I would say Matt Ryan, as I know all of you out there probably want him instead but let's face it. Atlanta has the 5th pick and after the whole Vick debacle, they sorely need a new QB. So they will pick him up. Which leaves us with Brohm. In my own opinion, I still believe that Troy Smith can get it done. We haven't seen enough of him. But bringing in Brohm will give us that extra insurance and more competition for Smith. That's just my two cents though.
Continue reading "Ravens pick in the draft"
